Tune-In Tuesdays: Kal Penn Leaves Obama Administration On A High

6 04 2010

Pott heads around the world lost their buzz last year after learning that there asteemed icon, Kal Penn – one half of the duo that is Harold & Kumar – had traded in his dime bag for a position as President Obama’s associate director of public engagement.

Well, it must be 4:20 because Mr. Penn is clocking out and returning to the role that made him a cult phenom.  Coming to theatres during the 2011 holiday season, the third installment in the “Harold & Kumar” franchise will reunite Penn (Kumar) with John Cho (Harold) in what EW.com is reporting could be the pairs biggest film yet…a possible 3-D spectacle that will have you trippin’.

I couldn’t be more thrilled, but I’m left with one nagging question.  Is Neil Patrick “Get some p**sy!” Harris going to make another cameo?

Will Ferrel’s Fights for Insurance Companies

23 09 2009

Funny man Will Ferrell is more than a comedian. He’s also an activist.

In a time when we’re all debating the healthcare reform, Ferrell is fighting for the real victims; the Insurance Companies of America.

In a spoof PSA on www.FunnyorDie.com, Ferrell and a cast of celebrities are speaking out for the protection of insurance companies.

In all seriousness, I work with a young lady from London who currently pays more than $1,500 a month for basic health insurance for her husband, daughter and herself. This doesn’t even include dental or eye insurance, which she could have used this week because she had a major oral infection.

Just think, if she moved back to the UK where healthcare is free for everyone, she could save a minimum of $18,000 a year, money that could be put toward her retirement. And we wonder why Americans can’t afford the basic necessities like milk and bread.

It’s time to wake up and get real on these issues. What are your thoughts? Do you want healthcare reform, or do you want to keep putting your hard-earned money in the pockets of the already filthy rich insurance companies?
