Tune-In Tuesdays: Earth Day 2010 TV Programs

20 04 2010

Reducing energy consumption is a critical step to leading a more eco-friendly lifestyle.  With the average American watching upwards of 30 hours of television each week, one of the easiest ways to start is by simply turning off the TV and spending more time outdoors with friends and family.  Not only will it cut down on your electric bill, being more active could help get you into shape for summer without the need of an expensive gym membership.

The truth of the matter, though, is that many of us will not cut back on our time on the couch.  But that doesn’t mean we can’t learn something while vegging out to the latest episodes of ‘Real Housewives’ or ‘The Office.’

In honor of Earth Day, checkout the series premiere of TREEHUGGER TV (Planet Green) and the second season premiere of THE LAZY ENVIRONMENTALIST (Sundance), both of which air tonight.  For a complete list of eco programming this week, visit tvtango.com.

Tune-In Tuesdays: Kal Penn Leaves Obama Administration On A High

6 04 2010

Pott heads around the world lost their buzz last year after learning that there asteemed icon, Kal Penn – one half of the duo that is Harold & Kumar – had traded in his dime bag for a position as President Obama’s associate director of public engagement.

Well, it must be 4:20 because Mr. Penn is clocking out and returning to the role that made him a cult phenom.  Coming to theatres during the 2011 holiday season, the third installment in the “Harold & Kumar” franchise will reunite Penn (Kumar) with John Cho (Harold) in what EW.com is reporting could be the pairs biggest film yet…a possible 3-D spectacle that will have you trippin’.

I couldn’t be more thrilled, but I’m left with one nagging question.  Is Neil Patrick “Get some p**sy!” Harris going to make another cameo?

True Blo-job

31 10 2009

Missing your Halloween Spirit this year?  Let Fleshlight, producers of the world’s number one sex toy for men, help get you in the mood with their new  Count Cockula and Succu Dry Fleshlights (different versions available for gay and straight men).

This “sex in a can” toy packages a soft silicone-like sleeve that mimics flesh for a more realistic experience.  And to help heighten your hunt for the big “O” the inside of the flexible sleeve is lined with stake-like nubs for a more intense sensation.

As the website states, you can “polish up your stake and drive it into this soft, vampire mouth for an orgasm that will wake the living dead.”  I don’t think I could put it any better even if I tried.

What do you think?  Have you or would you use this toy?  Share your experience with our readers.

Director John Hughes Dead at 59

6 08 2009

While on a morning walk in NYC, director John Hughes passed away due to an apparent heart attack.

John Hughes

John Hughes

Hughes — best known for his ’80s cult classics including The Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Sixteen Candles, Pretty In Pink and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off — was the master of teen angst, a theme he played out in many of his films [starring Molly Ringwald].

Though Hughes’ notoriety may have diminished over the past two decades, his contributions to the film industry continued as he wrote/directed many of our favorite family films including Uncle Buck, Christmas Vacation, the Home Alone and Beethoven films, and 101 Dalmatians to name a few.

Hughes will be greatly missed, but his films will continue to inspire and entertain generations to come.

Comic-Con 2009: Tron Legacy Update

25 07 2009

At the time of its release in 1982, Tron – nominated for two Oscars – showcased the most advanced special effects of its time. Nearly 30 years later, Disney is giving the film a proper sequel with Tron Legacy (aka TR2N), due out in May 2010, according to reports from Comic-Con 2009.

Jeff Bridges reprises his role as Kevin Flynn, and it is rumored that John Hurt, along with several other big names, will be a part of the cast.  Though the film is still classified as being in production, fans can get a first glimpse of what’s to come by clicking here.

While director Joseph Kosinski maintains the charm and style of the original film – something the legions of fans will appreciate – this big budget Disney spectacle is more sleek, polished and futuristic.

Haven’t seen the first film?  In an interview with Jeff Bridges at Comic-Con 2009, Bridges stated that new fans don’t have to watch the original to follow the new storyline.  Be that as it may, I think it would be a disservice for anyone to watch the new film without seeing the original that inspired a generation of artists, writers, film makers, special effects gurus, computer programmers and more.
